A few weeks back, a friend and I are having this conversation.. I wanted to share it with you guys so I could get your thoughts on the matter (she’s JDBro and I’m much2inspired):

[11:43] jdbr0: when you say a chick is dominant, what do you mean
[11:44] jdbr0: like what are some things/traits of dominance
[11:45] much2inspired: hmm
[11:45] much2inspired: i would call her the “aggressor”
[11:46] much2inspired: she typically takes on the more “protective” role of safety and bag carrying and door opening
[11:46] much2inspired: in bed, the initiator and leads in the sheets
[11:46] much2inspired: umm
[11:46] much2inspired: yea, all that
[11:46] jdbr0: hmm
[11:49] much2inspired: your thoughts?
[11:49] jdbr0: you’ve given me one of the clearest answers to that question
[11:50] much2inspired: yayy! go me
[11:50] jdbr0: I don’t like the term
[11:51] jdbr0: I’m not a fan of labels and stuff
[11:51] much2inspired: i am not crazy about the labels, per se
[11:52] much2inspired: but i do find that in a relationship, it’s rarely 50/50
[11:52] much2inspired: one will be the more ‘dominant’ of the two
[11:52] much2inspired: which simply means, she is the one who is more of the lead
[11:53] jdbr0: yeah but what’s wrong with sharing the lead
[11:53] much2inspired: my biggest thing is that we are both females, and you are no more capable of carrying a bag or swinging a hammer than i am.. so i don’t typically appreciate the damsel in distress behavior that some femmes exude..
[11:53] jdbr0: dig that
[11:53] much2inspired: HOWEVER i also have a very old school spirit in me.. so if you are going to behave as the dominant one, i will expect certain things from you.. but that is because of how you present yourself to me
[11:54] much2inspired: sexually, it’s a little more difficult though
[11:54] much2inspired: because i am FAR from a pillow princess
[11:54] much2inspired: i touch, taste.. all of that
[11:54] much2inspired: BUT when it comes to toys and straps and the like, because i date “dominant” women, they usually dont want me to use those on them
[11:55] much2inspired: so there, the lead is not totally shared
[11:55] much2inspired: because i am willing to let them use it on me
[11:55] jdbr0: true and I never understood that
[11:55] jdbr0: if I like a chick, it’s whatevy
[11:55] jdbr0: I dont feel because I dress a certain way, there’s certain stuff I shouldn’t do in or out the bedroom
[11:56] jdbr0: exactly
[11:56] much2inspired: i never attribute my behavior in the bedroom with what is worn
[11:56] much2inspired: it’s how the woman handles me that decides my response
[11:56] much2inspired: if you constantly insist on taking the bags and opening the door, it doesnt make sense to fight you on it
[11:57] much2inspired: but i am self sufficient, so if something needs to be fixed in my home.. i will fix it first (if i can) if you are there and jump in, fine whatever, but i dont go depending on my partner
[11:59] much2inspired: i am self sufficient and even if i dated men, i would let him know the same thing
[11:59] much2inspired: i appreciate assistance, but don’t require it
